    Headgear

Headgear is an essential piece of equipment for martial arts training and sparring! There are several key factors to consider when selecting your headgear, including:

Fit: Good headgear should fit snugly on your head without being uncomfortable – think of it as a strong hug. It should not shift or slide, even with impact or when it gets sweaty. If it does, you will need to tighten it or buy a smaller size. Most headgear has at least two adjustable straps under the chin and at the back of the head. Some headgear may also have an adjustable top or sides. Don’t get children headgear to “grow into.” Youth sizes are available for kids!
Vision: Headgear should not encroach on your field of vision. While wearing it, you should have a clear view of what is in front of you, as well as good peripheral vision.
Good shape: Like all gear, headgear can only do the job it is designed for if it’s in working order. Take good care of your headgear – clean it regularly and correctly per its material, don’t use it for things outside its intended purpose, and inspect it regularly for signs of wear and tear. We make our headgear durable to last through repeated use, but it never hurts to check!
