MAIA™ Teams Up With Sony Pictures To Promote The Karate Kid
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, April 16, 2010 –MAIA (Martial Arts Industry Association) is eager to announce a promotional opportunity through Sony Pictures to cross-market the upcoming summer blockbuster, The Karate Kid, which is a remake of the original 1980’s film. The opportunity includes martial arts school promotional activities and movie support activities.MAIA will also host a “how-to” webinar, free of charge, for martial arts schools across the globe, April 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. and April 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. (CST)

The webinar lead by MAIA Executive Director, Frank Silverman will showcase how martial arts schools can successfully market The Karate Kid promotional event.Mr. Silverman will share proven strategies, review the terms and conditions of compliance with Sony, and answer questions about the program.

“Many schools have seen a tremendous amount of success hosting movie events in the past, and we believe promoting The Karate Kid alongside the martial arts industry is an excellent way to help increase school awareness which in turn, leads to recruiting new students” said Frank Silverman, MAIA’s Executive Director.

The Karate Kid promotional event was developed to create awareness of the benefits of martial arts and to build student retention and enrollment for school owners.The package includes promotional ideas and marketing elements that have been approved by Sony. Marketing materials for The Karate Kid will be posted on MAIA’s website by May 1, 2010.
